Policy & Advocacy Statement
The impetus behind the creation of IASSCS was the perceived need to address the fragmentation of studies in sexuality and to provide a forum for expanding and developing sexuality as a legitimate area of scholarship.
One of IASSCS’ goals is to encourage cooperation between researchers, policy makers and advocacy groups. It seeks to become a source of expertise on sexuality in related policy debates, to provide support for various activists’ campaigns regarding sexuality, and to position itself as a source of reference for media.
