July 2009 - IASSCS VII Conference Paper Award Results
Within the framework of its Seventh Conference “Contested Innocence: Sexual Agency in Public and Private Space,” which took place in the Meliã Hanoi Hotel and Convention Center in Hanoi, Vietnam from April 15th to 18th, 2009, the International Association for the Study of Sexuality, Culture and Society offered an award for the best paper presented during the event.
The jury decided to present as winner the paper entitled:
“These days virginity is just a feeling’: (Hetero)sexuality and change in young urban Vietnamese men.” By Philip Martin
And to call an Honorary Mention to the paper entitled:
“The State, family and language of ‘social evils’: Re-stigmatising victims of trafficking in Vietnam.” By de Ramona Vijeyarasa
